Photo \/ Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Harry has been embroiled in a legal battle with the UK\u2019s Home Office, which he is suing over its decision to remove round-the-clock taxpayer-funded security for him and wife Meghan after they quit royal duties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ravec (the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures) instead proposed a \u201cbespoke process\u201d for Harry, which he has claimed showed him \u201cdifferent, unjustified and inferior treatment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In February last year, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/lifestyle\/prince-harry-loses-court-challenge-after-being-stripped-of-uk-security-detail-duke-plans-to-appeal\/VVSHDECKGNAKLCUODW5JIQYIDQ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/lifestyle\/prince-harry-loses-court-challenge-after-being-stripped-of-uk-security-detail-duke-plans-to-appeal\/VVSHDECKGNAKLCUODW5JIQYIDQ\/\">High Court judge rejected Harry\u2019s case<\/a> and ruled that Ravec\u2019s approach was not irrational or procedurally unfair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Harry appealed against that decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">After his appearance in the Court of Appeal earlier this month, Harry alleged that the decision to remove his police protection was done in a bid to prevent him and Meghan from leaving the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Because of the \u201chighly confidential\u201d information being presented about the duke\u2019s security, much of his appeal was heard in private. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Speaking to the UK\u2019s Telegraph, Harry said that his \u201cworst fears have been confirmed\u201d by what he\u2019d heard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cPeople would be shocked by what\u2019s being held back,\u201d he said, adding that his \u201cworst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case, and that\u2019s really sad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<a class=\"ad__link\" data-test-ui=\"ad__link\" href=\"https:\/\/advertising.nzme.co.nz\/\" data-ad-env=\"both\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Advertise with NZME.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He also spoke of the moment he was told about the decision regarding his security, describing it as \u201cdifficult to swallow\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u201cHarry blames Charles and thinks he can intervene.
