Former gangster Paul Ferris<\/a> is set to shed light on Scotland\u2019s crime clans and beyond with a brand new podcast series.<\/p>\n Glasgow-born Ferris, 61, is set to launch his podcast called Here and Now<\/a> in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n The former enforcer and convicted gunrunner<\/a> has already lined up his first guest, Scots crime photographer Brian Anderson to talk about his book Shooting The Mob.<\/p>\n The podcast will feature guests from various backgrounds.<\/p>\n Ferris said: \u201cBrian Anderson is the man who shot the mob.<\/p>\n \u201cOther prominent guests could be from Scotland, England or elsewhere.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a 45-minute to an hour podcast with an intro on who the guest is and I\u2019ll be doing the Q&A.\u201d<\/p>\n Ferris, who is currently grieving over the death of his brother Billy, aged 75<\/a>, added: \u201cThe podcast is at an advanced stage but I\u2019ve been diverted due to personal issues just now.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to the bereavement of my brother, some things have been delayed but we\u2019re at an advanced stage. People can be a lot more comfortable with me. They know my background.\u201d<\/p>\n He plans to invite American former mobster Michael Franzese onto his show, which will focus on life stories, but may also touch on the current gangland feud involving Scotland\u2019s rival crime clans.<\/p>\n Ferris, who was convicted at the Old Bailey in 1988 of conspiracy to deal firearms and explosives, said: \u201cThere will be elements of people I can reach out to.<\/p>\n \u201cI have already been asked to do a short documentary one about the boys in Dubai, but that\u2019s a different project.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are issues where there are still outstanding judicial matters.<\/p>\n \u201cYouTube has strict guidelines and you can be struck off.<\/p>\n \u201cThe rug can be pulled from under your feet.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we will be focussing with the podcast is the life stories of individuals rather than the recent scandal that is going on just now.<\/p>\n \u201cBut if they want a voice to explain what their position is, or maybe the family position, I\u2019d look at the Scottish crime thing.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it would need to have approval from one side or another.<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t want to get somebody who would criticise the other and have a dispute online.<\/p>\n \u201cToo many people are taking one side over the other.
