A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Northern Ireland this weekend, with a chance of flooding expected in some areas.<\/p>\n
Heavy rainfall is to be expected this Saturday mainly affecting counties Down, Antrim and Armagh. <\/p>\n
The yellow weather warning will be in force from 7am until 7pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The forecaster has warned that there will be a risk of flooding of some homes and businesses and travel disruption. <\/p>\n

News Catch Up – Thursday 25th September <\/p>\n
“Outbreaks of rain will move eastwards across Northern Ireland on Saturday morning, likely becoming persistent and heavy across eastern counties during the afternoon before slowly clearing eastwards during the early evening,\u201d a Met Office spokesperson said. <\/p>\n
\u201c20 to 30 mm rain is likely widely, with 40 to 50 mm possible on hills. This may lead to some flooding and travel disruption in places.\u201d <\/p>\n
The forecaster added: \u201cCheck if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.<\/p>\n
\u201cGive yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople cope better with power cuts when they have prepared for them in advance. It\u2019s easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.<\/p>\n
