Matthew McConaughey revealed in a new interview that he and his mother, Mary Kathleen \u201cKay\u201d McConaughey, once drifted apart for nearly a whole decade over issues surrounding his fame.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had about an eight-year period where I had to have short conversations with her on our Sunday phone calls because she was sharing a lot of that information,\u201d the \u201cDallas Buyers Club\u201d star, 55, explained to People<\/a> in a piece published earlier this week. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d tell her something on Sunday between son and mom, and Tuesday I\u2019d read about it in the news or see it in the local paper.
