{"id":454929,"date":"2025-09-27T08:35:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T08:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/454929\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T08:35:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T08:35:27","slug":"europe-is-investing-more-than-2-5-million-to-promote-plant-based-foods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/454929\/","title":{"rendered":"Europe Is Investing More Than $2.5 Million To Promote Plant-Based Foods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/plantbasednews.org\/tag\/europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Europe<\/a> is investing more than USD $2.5 million to promote plant-based foods.<\/p>\n<p>A new EU-funded project will bring together partners from Portugal, Czechia, and Denmark to support farmers in legume production and innovation, expand plant-based catering options, equip health professionals to promote plant-based nutrition, and provide policy recommendations for plant-based action plans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plantbasednews.org\/culture\/politics\/denmark-plant-based-initiative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Denmark Introduces \u2018Plant-Based Diplomacy Initiative\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project builds on <a href=\"https:\/\/plantbasednews.org\/news\/environment\/denmark-roadmap-plant-based\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denmark\u2019s \u201cgroundbreaking\u201d 2023 roadmap<\/a> towards plant-based food and aims to replicate its various successes throughout the union.<\/p>\n<p>The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is providing \u20ac2.2 million ($2,593,613) for the project, which is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eitfood.eu\/projects\/isaap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Innovative Strategies to Accelerate Adoption and Consumption of Plant-Based Food<\/a> (ISAAP) and coordinated by ProVeg Czechia.<\/p>\n<p>CAP, CERPRO, ProVeg Portugal, Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa, Dansk Vegetarisk Forening, and Catering Zdrav\u011b are also involved. Denmark is the current holder of the presidency of the Council of the European Union and intends to further build on its plant-based successes over the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the new ISAAP project, Louise Johansen of Danks Vegetarisk Forening (DVF) said, \u201cWe are also happy that, as part of the project, we can inspire the rest of Europe with Danish plant-based initiatives that support a more resilient food system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, an international consortium announced it would design and build the world\u2019s first cultivated meat farm.
