Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav demonstrated his class yet again with his gesture towards Sri Lankan youngster Dunith Wellalage following the passing of the latter\u2019s father.<\/p>\n

Yadav consoled the Sri Lankan spinner after the 22-year-old had to endure an unfortunate experience, and the Indian skipper embraced the Lankan youngster in warm fashion.<\/p>\n

India, who had already sealed their berth in the final of the Asia Cup, picked up a thrilling win over the Lankan Lions on Friday as the men in blue edged their neighbours out in a Super Over to clinch their final Super 4 game.<\/p>\n

India were put to bat by Sri Lanka and went on to make 202 runs for the loss of half their side with Abhishek SHarma starring with a 31-ball-61-run knock. He was aided by Tilak Varma\u2019s 49-run effort and Sanju Samson\u2019s 39-run-innings. Sri Lanka\u2019s Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dasu Shanaka and Charith Asalanka all removed a wicket each.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka managed to push the game to a Super Over as they managed to make exactly as many runs as the Indians did, riding on opener Pathum Nissanka incredible ton. Nissaka\u2019s 107 runs off just 58 delieveires spearheaded the Lankans\u2019 chase, while he was supported ably by Kusal Perera who added 58 runs to the board.<\/p>\n

Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarty all picked up a wicket each for the men in blue on the day.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka let the game slip in the super over as they could only manage 2 runs before they lost both their permitted wickets with Perera falling prey to Arshdeep Singh first, before the southpaw also claimed the scalp of Dasun Shanaka. India had no issues seeing the game out as Yadav and Shubman Gill saw the chase out with five balls to spare to take winning momentum into the championship clash.<\/p>\n
