Six crews rushed to the scene of a house fire in Birmingham<\/a> this morning, Saturday, September 27 – as an ‘avoid the area’ warning was issued.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Fire Service said they were called to Twyford Road, Ward End<\/a>, at 9.12am.<\/p>\n

There were no rescues made. One person was taken to hospital with a head injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

A fire spokeswoman confirmed there had been a fire in loft area of the property.<\/p>\n

An aerial platform was used as part of putting the flames out.<\/p>\n

Twyford Road was closed to ensure the emergency services could work at the scene.<\/p>\n

The fire service posted on X: “We have four crews in attendance at Twyford Road, Ward End, where they have responded to a house fire.<\/p>\n

“Please avoid the area, where possible.”<\/p>\n

It then added: “This incident has now increased to six appliances, a Hydraulic Platform, and other support appliances.<\/p>\n

“The area around Twyford Road and Washwood Heath Road are busy.<\/p>\n
