Edward Nygma, a compulsive criminal obsessed with riddles as much as his intellectual superiority, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbook.com\/movies\/news\/the-batman-back-issues-the-riddler-puzzles-plots-riddles-comics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Prince of Puzzles<\/a> (in the golden age), a question mark-tattooed tactician (in Legends of the Dark Knight), a cerebral computer game designer (in Batman: The Animated Series), a private detective (in the Paul Dini-penned Detective Comics), a masked serial killer (in The Batman movie), and a mastermind who deduced Batman\u2019s secret identity (in Batman: Hush). <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tVideos by ComicBook.com\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Last we saw him in writer Chip Zdarsky\u2019s Batman run, the Riddler reinvented himself once more \u2014 as the tech genius CEO of his cryptographic technology company, Nygmatech, funded by his <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbook.com\/dc\/news\/batman-riddler-nygmatech-tech-mogul-crypto-comic-153\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cQuesteum\u201d cryptocurrency<\/a>. Batman and ex-Commissioner Jim Gordon put an end to the Riddler\u2019s plot involving mind-controlling technology, and in Zdarsky\u2019s final issue (Batman #157), we learned the wealthy Nygma had already got himself out on bond. <\/p>\n<p>But this week\u2019s Batman #159, the second chapter of Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee\u2019s six-part Hush 2, a redesigned Riddler debuted his dramatic new look: a buzz cut, military-style boots and pants, an inexplicably bigger build, and a green question mark tattooed over his left eye. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"928\" height=\"1441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Batman-Hush-2-The-Riddler.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1320588\"  \/>The Riddler in Batman: Hush 2 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRiddle me this: why would you help us?\u201d asked Nightwing, who questioned why Batgirl let the Riddler into her Oracle hideout in Gotham Clock Tower. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnswer: you don\u2019t understand Hush like I do,\u201d the Riddler said. \u201cYou\u2019re going to need all the help you can get, Dick. You and Babs. Even Bruce.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, back at the Batcave, Batman was forced to save a comatose Joker\u2019s life as part of Tommy Elliot\u2019s twisted game. He was ambushed by Red Hood, a.k.a. Jason Todd, the second Robin who was killed by the Joker and resurrected (just after the original Hush storyline had the shape-shifter Clayface impersonate an adult Jason as part of the \u201cHush\u201d plot masterminded by the Riddler). <\/p>\n<p>Hush 2 part 2 ended with Batman being rendered unconscious by a wrathful Jason, then waking to find the Batmobile gone \u2014 along with Jason and Joker. \u201cHe said he was going to finish what he came here to do. It was not to kill the Joker,\u201d Batman realized. \u201cJason is working with Hush.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>H2SH continues through August\u2019s Batman #163.
