Police are trying to trace a van driver after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run<\/a> in Edinburgh last night.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old man was struck on Prestonfield Avenue in the city<\/a> around 9.40pm on Friday, September 26. The driver failed to stop at the scene.<\/p>\n

The victim was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh<\/a> for treatment. His condition has not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n

The road was closed off for some time as emergency crews dealt with the incident.<\/p>\n

One local resident told EdinburghLive:<\/a> \u201cPolice are saying it was a road accident. Someone rushed away in an ambulance, road is all closed off. It happened at about 9.30pm.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: \u201cAround 9.40pm on Friday, 26 September, 2025, we were called to a report of a 29-year-old man struck by a van on Prestonfield Avenue, Edinburgh, which failed to stop.<\/p>\n
