Three people had to be rescued from the seventh floor of a tower block in south Bristol<\/a> after a fire<\/a> broke out.<\/p>\n At 2pm yesterday (Tuesday, April 22) Avon Fire and Rescue<\/a> were called to a block of flats on Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe<\/a>.<\/p>\n A fire was discovered in a flat on the seventh floor.<\/p>\n Firefighters rescued three people from within the building.<\/p>\n Crews then safely extinguished the fire.<\/p>\n It is believed the cause of the fire was accidental.<\/p>\n The ambulance service treated three people at the scene.<\/p>\n Pictures from the scene shows five fire engines present.<\/p>\n Avon Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 2pm on Tuesday, April 22, to reports of a fire in a block of flats on Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe.<\/p>\n “On arrival, crews found a fire in one flat on the seventh floor.<\/p>\n “Firefighters rescued three people from the building and safely extinguished the fire.<\/p>\n “The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.<\/p>\n “Three people were treated by ambulance at the scene.”<\/p>\n Want the latest Bristol breaking news and top stories first?
