The crooner has built a 200m running track at his pad in Essex<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He even tries to see how long he can hold his breath underwater in their swimming<\/a> pool.<\/p>\n

Penny Lancaster<\/a>, 54, who married the Hot Legs singer in 2007, said her hubby had promised her \u201920 more years\u2019.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cRod is very vigilant with his health<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe decided he wanted to try and be the fastest 80-year-old, so he built a 200m sprinting track in our garden so he could practise.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s just like a teenager. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s living it to the full. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re trying to keep up with him but he sets the bar.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s promised me 20 years, so I\u2019m seeing 100.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also told the Weekend supplement in The Times<\/a> today: \u201cEven in his workouts, he dives to the bottom of the pool with a weight and won\u2019t just swim on the surface.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s like \u2018Just because I\u2019m 80, I\u2019ll prove to myself, I\u2019ll prove to everyone\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s always striving, as if he\u2019s at the beginning of his life and not the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir Rod has sold more than 120m records worldwide, and is famed for hits including This Old Heart of Mine, Maggie May, and Do Ya Think I\u2019m Sexy?.<\/p>\n
