Batten down the hatches as Donald Trump hits DEFCON 1

From where I’m sitting in America, it’s downright laughable that Sadiq Khan, the pint-sized mayor of London, thinks he can take swings at Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and come out looking clever.

Khan’s latest tantrum, calling Trump “racist, sexist, misogynistic, and Islamophobic” after the president’s UN speech, where he rightfully slammed Khan’s record as mayor, is the kind of boneheaded move that makes you wonder if Khan’s got any sense at all.

Khan’s response is a pathetic overreach that could cost London big time. Will this little menace regret mouthing off? You bet he will, and the fallout’s going to sting.

Let’s get one thing straight: Khan’s a nobody next to Trump. The guy runs a city—an important one to be sure—but as the leader of the free world, Trump is arguably the most powerful man alive.

For Khan to pick a fight with him is like a yapping chihuahua taking on a bulldozer. It’s not just stupid; it’s embarrassing. Trump’s got a gift for saying what regular folks are thinking, and when he talks about immigration causing trouble, he’s hitting a nerve that runs deep in Britain, too.

Ordinary Brits naturally worry about what open borders are doing to their towns and traditions. Trump gets that. He says it loud, but it’s what plenty of people are whispering over their pints.

Sadiq Khan’s big mouth just cost London. Batten down the hatches as Donald Trump hits DEFCON 1 – Lee Cohen |

Getty Images

Khan, though? He’s the kind of sanctimonious loudmouth who slaps a “racist” label on anyone who dares question his open-door policies.

He’s a race-baiter, plain and simple, always ready to cry foul when someone like Trump calls out the mess illegal migration can cause. Trump’s sharia law jab taps into real fears about cultural drift that Khan refuses to acknowledge.

Instead of dealing with those concerns, he just points and screeches “bigot!” It’s the tactic of a man who’d rather play victim than do his job. Pathetic.

Khan’s big mouth is going to cost him—and London—dearly. For starters, he’s poking a bear he can’t handle. The US is Britain’s staunchest ally, a bond built on shared history and mutual interests.

Trump’s second state visit, with all the pomp of Windsor Castle, showed how much that relationship matters. But Khan’s too busy throwing insults to care. If Trump takes it personally—and we all know he holds grudges—London could get frozen out.

Trade talks, security deals, even tourism could take a hit, all because Khan couldn’t keep his trap shut. While Keir Starmer’s smart enough to keep things friendly with Washington, Khan’s acting like a spoiled kid who thinks he can badmouth the President and get away with it.

Then there’s the home front. Khan’s making enemies of the very people he’s supposed to serve. Londoners are proud of their city, its history, and its place in the world. They don’t want their mayor acting like a stroppy teenager, crowing that he’s “living rent-free in Trump’s head.”

That’s not leadership; it’s a cheap shot from a man who thinks he’s cleverer than he is. Brits value strength and pragmatism, not petty point-scoring. Khan’s alienating them by picking a fight he can’t win and ignoring the real issues they care about, like crime and community.

Speaking of crime, let’s not forget Khan’s dismal record. London’s streets are plagued by knife attacks, and public services are creaking.

Trump didn’t hold back when he pointed that out, and he’s not wrong. Khan’s team loves to brag that London is “safer than American cities,” but that’s a dodge. Londoners don’t care how they stack up against Detroit; they want their city to feel safe by British standards.

Trump’s blunt talk about London’s problems hits home because it’s what people see every day. Khan’s response? Whine about “racism” instead of fixing the mess..

Khan’s obsession with calling out Trump also shows how out of touch he is. Trump’s warnings about immigration strike a chord because they echo what many Britons felt when they voted for Brexit: a pushback against unchecked borders and cultural erosion.

Khan, though, would rather lecture everyone on tolerance than listen to their concerns. He’s the mayor who thinks anyone with a Union Jack is a bigot. That’s a betrayal of the people he’s supposed to represent.

Will Khan regret this? Absolutely. His big talk risks souring ties with America, which could hurt London’s economy and influence. At home, he’s pushing away voters who are sick of his sanctimonious act.

Every time he opens his mouth, he digs a deeper hole. Trump, meanwhile, should just brush him off. Khan’s a small-time nuisance, a mosquito buzzing around a lion.

But by taking the bait, Khan’s proving he’s not up to the job. London deserves better than a mayor who’d rather fight pointless battles than fix real problems.

Keep this up, Sadiq, and you’ll be the one living rent-free in the history books—as a cautionary tale of what happens when a little man picks a fight too big for him.

From where I’m sitting in America, it’s downright laughable that Sadiq Khan, the pint-sized mayor of London, thinks…

[7757
748,393,4884,257,8274,16,15
0":"post-456239","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-london","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-london","12":"tag-membership","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
