A dispersal order has been put in place in Hindley tonight after numerous reports of kids causing anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n
Greater Manchester Police<\/a> (GMP) said they had received eight reports which included ‘youths throwing several items at cars’ and ‘alcohol-related disturbances.’<\/p>\n A 48-hour dispersal order covering the town centre has now been put in place.<\/p>\n It will remain in force until 3pm on Monday (September 29).<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The order, made under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, gives officers the power to issue a written notice to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the borough, a Section 34 dispersal order is in force in Wigan town centre this weekend, for the fourth time in recent weeks, following a number of reported incidents there.<\/p>\n Inspector Adam James from our Wigan<\/a> district said: \u201cWe\u2019ve seen a concerning rise in anti-social behaviour in Hindley Town Centre and Wigan as a whole over the past few days, with incidents involving criminal damage and alcohol-related disturbances.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News <\/strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThis dispersal order is a proactive measure to help us prevent any further ASB incidents in the area as well as reassure the community.<\/p>\n “Officers will be patrolling the area to enforce the order and engage with the general public.\u201d<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n For the latest stories and breaking news visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk<\/a>.
