Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, with the home side’s substitute Nketiah scoring in the seventh added minute, and player ratings have been doled out below<\/p>\n

Liverpool were left reeling after a last-gasp defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palace’s super sub Eddie Nketiah netted in the seventh minute of stoppage time, following Federico Chiesa’s 87th-minute equaliser for the Reds, which came after Isamila Sarr had put the home side ahead early on<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This result marked Arne Slot’s team’s first Premier League loss of the season<\/a>, having previously been defeated by Palace in the Community Shield last month.<\/p>\n

And the Reds could see their gap at the top if Arsenal<\/a> can pull out a win on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Here is how Daily Star Sport<\/strong> rated the Liverpool player’s performances…<\/p>\n

Alisson Becker, 8 – <\/strong>Couldn’t do much about the opening goal and pulled off cracking saves from Munoz, Pino and Mateta to keep Liverpool in the hunt before half-time. Had little to do in the second half as the visitors took control, until the late decider, reports the Liverpool Echo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Conor Bradley, 5 – <\/strong>A tad unlucky to concede the corner leading to the first goal but struggled to contain Pino and Mitchell on Palace’s left flank. Showed a bit more attacking flair towards half-time. Subbed.<\/p>\n

Ibrahima Konate, 4 –<\/strong> Handed Palace two golden opportunities in the first half and seemed completely off his game, though he did come close with a header from a corner. Booked and subbed.<\/p>\n

Virgil van Dijk, 6 –<\/strong> Not his usual cool-headed self, making a hash of a couple of clearances. Maintained a solid line in the second half as Liverpool pushed high up the pitch.<\/p>\n

Milos Kerkez, 5 – <\/strong>With no winger supporting him in the first half, he tried to inject some offensive energy down the left but with limited success. Found more joy in the second half with Gakpo ahead of him.<\/p>\n

Ryan Gravenberch, 6 –<\/strong> He botched his header, inadvertently setting up Palace’s opener, but showed some spark in midfield and nearly scored with a shot that hit the post in the first half. He helped Liverpool ramp up the pressure after the interval.<\/p>\n

Alexis Mac Allister, 5 –<\/strong> He tried to carve a path through the dense Palace midfield but was frequently swallowed up by opponents. He did manage a good pass to Isak in the second half before being subbed off.<\/p>\n

Dominik Szoboszlai, 7 – <\/strong>The only Liverpool player on the pitch to display any real grit and quality before half-time, creating a chance for Konate. He switched to right-back in the second half and delivered a decent cross for Wirtz.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah, 4 –<\/strong> He struggled with the basics and offered little going forward for Liverpool before the break, providing no defensive cover either.<\/p>\n

He improved slightly afterwards but still had a disappointing game overall.<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak, 4 –<\/strong> He looked every bit a player starting his first Premier League<\/a> match with teammates he hadn’t trained with for long. He squandered a good opportunity in the second half before being subbed off.<\/p>\n

Florian Wirtz, 6 – <\/strong>Playing in a free role, he worked hard to find space but lacked quality when in possession. He improved significantly in the second half when playing as a number 10, forcing Henderson into making a save.<\/p>\n

Cody Gakpo (Bradley 46), 6 –<\/strong> He brought more structure to the left side and created a few half-chances.<\/p>\n

Curtis Jones (Mac Allister 65), 6 – <\/strong>He helped Liverpool maintain possession and pick out passes.<\/p>\n

Jeremie Frimpong (Konate 74), 6 – <\/strong>He added some speed to Liverpool’s attack down the right flank.<\/p>\n

Federico Chiesa (Wirtz 74), 7 – <\/strong>He netted his goal nicely and nearly scored with another attempt.<\/p>\n
