The draw could easily have been a win as Daniel Farke was left ruing his side\u2019s missed chances<\/a> at full-time; however, Longstaff got the better of the midfield battle against Tyler Adams, who received a rough ride from the Leeds faithful.<\/a> <\/p>\n

After the game, one statistic highlighted the impressive nature of Longstaff\u2019s display in the heart of the midfield as he achieved something no Leeds player had done as his side dealt with the mixed emotions of another last-minute goal conceded. <\/p>\n

A statistic shared by Opta\u2019s Jonny Cooper, posting on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), highlights the full impact of Longstaff\u2019s impressive display<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Cooper, Longstaff created a total of seven chances and won 10 duels as he drove Leeds on in the middle of the park, becoming the first Leeds player to do so in the Premier League since Opta\u2019s records began.<\/p>\n

On top of this impressive output, Longstaff also covered 12 kilometres as he seemed to be everywhere in an all-action display. <\/p>\n

Not only was his goal his first for Leeds, but it was his first Premier League goal since April 2024, when he found the net for Newcastle against Brighton.<\/p>\n

Leeds\u2019 midfield has been criticised for lacking creativity at times this season, but Longstaff showed that it is possible to mix flair and grit in an impressive performance. <\/p>\n

Longstaff delighted to score his first Leeds United goal<\/p>\n

Speaking to LUTV<\/a> after the game, Longstaff expressed his delight at finding the net for his new club for the first time.<\/p>\n

According to Longstaff, he is \u201cover the moon\u201d to break his long goal-scoring drought and get off the mark at Elland Road. <\/p>\n

Longstaff said: \u201cI thought Brenden was going to score, and then I just tried to hit it where I could, and luckily it sliced into the top corner and a bit of a dodgy knee slide. <\/p>\n
