A bakery in Scotland became so popular that it was forced to bring in crowd control after queues began spilling onto the street and raising safety concerns.<\/p>\n
Lannan Bakery, situated on Hamilton Place in Stockbridge in the heart of Edinburgh<\/a>, has witnessed customer demand rocket since opening its doors in July 2023.<\/p>\n The establishment, operated by award-winning Scottish baker Darcie Maher, became an internet sensation for its creative pastries and routinely draws lines of enthusiastic customers that wind down the street.<\/p>\n However, the enormous number of visitors created difficulties in the narrow-pavemented location, especially during school<\/a> run times.<\/p>\n Mums and dads from Stockbridge Primary School complained that the throngs were pushing children<\/a> onto the road, triggering safety worries, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n As a result, Lannan was compelled to employ a dedicated queue warden to control the masses and ensure youngsters and parents could pass safely.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Just eight customers are allowed inside the bakery at any one time, and the rest must wait outside under the steward’s supervision.<\/p>\n “The safety of the children and parents at Stockbridge Primary School is a priority for us at Lannan. We continue to work closely with the school and have engaged a queue warden to manage the queue,” Ms Maher told BBC Scotland.<\/p>\n “A new full-time member of staff has been brought on board for this purpose.”<\/p>\n Lannan’s menu varies regularly and features viennoiserie, custard slices, pains suisses, and cardamom buns, alongside limited-run seasonal creations.
