{"id":458335,"date":"2025-09-28T17:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T17:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/458335\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T17:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T17:03:10","slug":"watch-edwyn-collins-reunite-with-orange-juice-bandmates-to-play-felicity-at-final-glasgow-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/458335\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Edwyn Collins reunite with Orange Juice bandmates to play &#8216;Felicity&#8217; at final Glasgow show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/edwyn-collins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edwyn Collins<\/a> reunited with his former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/orange-juice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orange Juice<\/a> bandmates James Kirk and Steven Daly at his final ever Glasgow show.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/edwyn-collins-announces-final-ever-uk-tour-for-2025-including-london-show-buy-tickets-3843376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The singer announced his farewell tour<\/a>, named \u2018The Testimonial Tour 2025 \u2013 A Last Lap Around The UK\u2019, earlier this year and it kicked off with a show in Hebden Bridge on Thursday (September 25).<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, he played an emotional final show in his hometown of Glasgow, and the occasion was marked by a reunion of the original line-up of the landmark indie band, with guitarist Kirk and drummer Daly joining Collins. Original bassist David McClymont was absent as he lives in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>It was the first time the three have played in public together since Kirk and Daly left the band in 1982, and they played versions of \u2018Felicity\u2019, from their 1982 debut album \u2018You Can\u2019t Hide Your Love Forever\u2019, and the 1980 single \u2018Blue Boy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Watch footage of \u2018Felicity\u2019 here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Collins took to Instagram after the show, sharing photographs from the stage and writing: \u201cTo hear \u2018Blueboy\u2019 and \u2018Felicity\u2019 played by James and Steven with me in Glasgow. Just like this. First time together onstage in 44 years. After Kirk and Daly left in 1982, the band went through multiple line-up changes and released two further albums. They eventually split in 1985.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Collins released his 10th solo album \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/edwyn-collins-announces-new-album-nation-shall-speak-unto-nation-3829115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation<\/a>\u2019, and he has dates remaining on this farewell tour in Buxton, Bath, Southampton, Brighton, London, Norwich, Manchester and Newcastle. He spoke about his recovery in 2019, telling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/lifeandstyle\/2019\/may\/04\/edwyn-collins-everything-changed-when-my-stroke-happened\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cI was in hospital for six months and for all that time I couldn\u2019t speak\u2026 I was just inside my mind. I was so scared. Thanks to my therapist I\u2019ve got an awful lot back that I lost.
