The awards celebrate excellence in the industry, recognising outstanding bakeries and everything that makes them unique.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">In addition to top-tier bakeries, the<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/inside-rough-hand-made-family-14973029\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> National Bakery Awards<\/a> celebrates social enterprise bakeries and the people behind them with two special awards: Young Baker of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Bakery. The event will take place on November 25, with two bakeries nominated in Merseyside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The first nomination for Merseyside is<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/inside-rough-hand-made-family-14973029\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Rough Hand Made<\/a>, which was renowned on Penny Lane when it opened in 2014. After four successful years, owners Carlos and Sharon Goldman decided to open their business in a new home on the Royal <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/albert-dock\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Albert Dock<\/a>, where it remains today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Sharon previously told the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/inside-rough-hand-made-family-14973029\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">ECHO<\/a>: &#8220;It\u2019s a bakery, but it\u2019s really an experience. Our customers don\u2019t just come in to buy a loaf of bread, it\u2019s somewhere where all of your senses wake up. Carlos said: \u201cWhen you come inside our bakery you can smell the smells coming out of the ovens and hear the music \u2013 and you see everything being prepared in front of you in our open-plan kitchen and produced from scratch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/inside-rough-hand-made-family-14973029\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rough Hand Made<\/a> is also famous around Liverpool for its pitta bread that customers are known to order in advance to make sure they get their hands on the baked goodness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The second nominee in this year&#8217;s<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/liverpool-bakery-named-best-uk-31274708\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> National Bakery Awards<\/a> is <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/liverpool-bakery-named-best-uk-31274708\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wild Loaf<\/a>. The bakery appeared on BBC2&#8217;s The Hairy Bikers Go West last year, with the pair giving a mini tutorial to Si King and the late Dave Myers and sharing some of their ingredients and techniques.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Co-owner Emily previously told the ECHO: &#8220;Since opening we have gone from strength to strength. Our philosophy is good service, good produce and love.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">&#8220;We are always trying to work more ethically and source our stuff locally. We are working more closely with farmers too.
