Teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/yuki-tsunoda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yuki Tsunoda<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/visa-cash-app-rb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Racing Bulls<\/a> duo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/liam-lawson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liam Lawson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/isack-hadjar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isack Hadjar<\/a>, are out of contract in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda replaced Lawson just two races into the season at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/red-bull-racing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Red Bull<\/a> as he struggled to adapt to the RB21. The general feeling is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/ralf-schumacher-admits-lucky-2-2m-a-year-driver-will-definitely-not-be-on-the-2026-f1-grid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tsunoda will lose his seat<\/a>, potentially dropping off the grid entirely, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/helmut-marko-has-just-dropped-his-biggest-hint-yet-that-isack-hadjar-will-join-red-bull-in-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hadjar being the favourite to join Red Bull<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Formula 2 star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/very-special-f1-hopeful-truly-believes-he-will-be-on-the-grid-in-the-2026-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arvid Lindblad is being linked with Racing Bulls<\/a> next season, having impressed the Red Bull hierarchy in the junior categories and private testing. Amid all the speculation, the team\u2019s decision on their drivers for 2026 is obvious.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2236543730-1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda in the garage at the 2025 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix\" class=\"wp-image-139625\" \/>Photo by Mark Thompson\/Getty ImagesRed Bull must keep their 2025 driver line-up in 2026<\/p>\n<p>With Hadjar being tipped for the Red Bull seat, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/racing-bulls-havent-ruled-out-bringing-one-of-their-old-driver-line-ups-back-together-for-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Racing Bulls have not ruled out Tsunoda returning<\/a> to partner with Lawson, as he did at the end of 2024. But given his experience, it would not make sense for him to return to the so-called \u2018junior team\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull are in a rebuilding phase under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/laurent-mekies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laurent Mekies<\/a>, who has replaced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/christian-horner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christian Horner<\/a> after his sacking in July. The team are starting to reap the benefits of his technical approach, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/max-verstappen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Verstappen<\/a> winning the last two races.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/red-bull-are-now-discussing-internally-a-major-change-for-2026-that-yuki-tsunoda-desperately-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mekies has planned to improve the second car<\/a>, with Tsunoda already seeing a slight upturn in performance. But it was an encouraging weekend that the 25-year-old can take confidence from, even more so as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/news\/helmut-markos-private-reaction-to-yuki-tsunodas-best-red-bull-result-could-be-bad-news-for-liam-lawson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helmut Marko was \u2018bouncing\u2019 over Tsunoda\u2019s performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull need stability as they head into a new era as an engine supplier under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/2026-regulations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new technical regulations<\/a>. The same applies to Lawson and F2 talent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f1oversteer.com\/tag\/arvid-lindblad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lindblad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The former is starting to gain his confidence back at Racing Bulls, with the VCARB 02 being a much easier machine to drive. Lawson\u2019s form has started to pick up, recording his best qualifying of P3 in Baku before finishing fifth in the race; his best result to date.<\/p>\n<p>The New Zealander is familiar with the Faenza outfit\u2019s operation. However, it may make more sense to keep him in F2 for another year \u2013 he currently sits seventh in the standings in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Promoting a driver too soon could put unnecessary pressure on their shoulders. Kimi Antonelli is the prime example of how being thrown into a top team can create unrealistic expectations, as he struggles for consistent points in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull cannot make the same mistake with Lindblad.
