topics and politics are destroying relationships, the research found.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">More than two in five (42 per cent) of divorced Britons said disagreements over issues &#8211; including <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/gender-ideology\/index.html\" id=\"mol-129ef280-9cac-11f0-a40f-bd59756ef2fe\" rel=\"noopener\">gender<\/a> identity, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/cancel-culture\/index.html\" id=\"mol-129d44d0-9cac-11f0-a40f-bd59756ef2fe\" rel=\"noopener\">cancel culture<\/a>, immigration, climate activism and political correctness &#8211; had contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Political correctness and &#8216;wokeness&#8217; (41 per cent) and immigration (41 per cent) were the most common triggers for conflict.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">This was followed by transgender issues (31 per cent), cancel culture (26 per cent), and climate activism (20 per cent).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Nearly one in five (17 per cent) said arguments about <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/donald_trump\/index.html\" id=\"mol-125ba7f0-9cac-11f0-a40f-bd59756ef2fe\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> had contributed to their relationship breakdown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">While 15 per cent said the MeToo movement and 14 per cent pointed to conversations about the Middle East.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Brexit also continues to leave its mark on the nation&#8217;s love lives as a quarter (24 per cent) of respondents said that arguments with their former partner on the topic had led to their demise.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-f99a245f15613acd\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/102524883-15142635-image-a-1_1759093255309.jpg\" height=\"475\" width=\"634\" alt=\"Arguments over Brexit, transgender rights and immigration are some of the top reasons British couples have divorced, a study has revealed\" class=\"blkBorder img-share\" style=\"max-width:100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>   <\/p>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">Arguments over Brexit, transgender rights and immigration are some of the top reasons British couples have divorced, a study has revealed<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Rows involved how they or the other had voted, views on leaving or remaining or the impact of the 2016 vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">While more than one in four (26 per cent) admitted they would avoid dating someone who voted differently to them on Brexit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The survey of recently divorced Britons was conducted in September 2025 by UK health technology company 32Co to coincide with the launch of its Aerox Sleep Centres, which offer non-invasive treatment for snoring, across the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">They also found couples faced challenges in the bedroom as\u00a0nearly half (47 per cent) consider snoring or symptoms associated with sleep apnoea to have been a contributory factor to the breakdown of their relationship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A staggering 85 per cent admitted they went through &#8216;sleep divorces&#8217;
