Oliver Glasner has refused to rule out replacing Ruben Amorim after admitting he is aware of speculation linking him with Manchester United. The Reds’ poor start to the campaign continued at the weekend when they were beaten 3-1 by Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n As reported by the MEN on Monday morning<\/a>, Amorim retains the backing of the United board<\/a> despite the defeat to the Bees, and no replacement is being lined up<\/a>. However, that hasn’t stopped speculation around the 40-year-old’s Old Trafford<\/a> future.<\/p>\n And after guiding Crystal Palace to FA Cup<\/a> glory last season and entering the last 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park, Oliver Glasner is the favourite with the bookies to replace Amorim. And when asked directly about the rumours linking him with United and other ‘top clubs’ by the Austrian edition of Kicker<\/a>, he replied: \u201cI follow all the rumours \u2013 and that\u2019s all there is \u2013 neutrally and completely relaxed.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Premier League trio learn Man United manager stance as Ruben Amorim sack fears grow<\/a>READ MORE: Manchester United stance on Ruben Amorim’s future after Brentford defeat<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cFocusing on the daily work with my players and coaches, and trying to enjoy it as much as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n The Reds are currently 14th in the Premier League<\/a> table and return to action against Sunderland on Saturday. And Gary Neville<\/a> fears Amorim could be sacked if his old side are beaten by the Black Cats.<\/p>\n “I think when it gets to this point, you’ve got to see what happens next Saturday against Sunderland,” he said. “You’ve got a game at home against Sunderland.<\/p>\n “And Sunderland, as we know, are obviously in decent form. But if that game goes against Manchester United<\/a>, you’re going to start seeing very, very, very big questions being asked of the ownership.<\/p>\n “Big questions. They brought a young manager in. He’s played a completely different system. They’ve invested in a completely different system. They brought [Patrick] Dorgu in, and they brought other players.<\/p>\n “And if they were to be 14th, 15th, 16th in October, which was where I said at the start of the season, if Manchester United<\/a> are where they were last season in October, it’s not a one-off.<\/p>\n “It becomes what you are, and it becomes a pattern, and then managers come under huge pressure.
