An Edinburgh churchyard has been locked down by police following the unexplained death of a man.<\/a><\/p>\n Today at around 2pm, officers<\/a> were seen at The Parish Church of St Cuthbert alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n Emergency crews raced to the scene after receiving reports that a man had tragically died on Lothian Road in the capital.<\/a><\/p>\n Police enquiries are ongoing and the death<\/a> is being treated as unexplained. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.<\/p>\n Images from the scene show the graveyard surrounding the church taped off and officers on the scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n A concerned passerby told Edinburgh Live<\/a> about how they saw officers with blue gloves and clear bags collecting evidence.<\/p>\n They said: “I was just walking up to Lothian Road and spotted blue tape. There were several officers there too.<\/p>\n “No clue what’s going on but it looks like they are looking through some evidence in the graveyard.<\/p>\n “One section of the graveyard is closed off, people are being asked to move on.”<\/p>\n A member of Parish Church of St Cuthbert confirmed that the incident<\/a> was not connected with the church.<\/p>\n A Police Scotland spokesperson said: \u201cAround 2pm on Monday, 29 September, 2025, we were made aware of the death of a man on Lothian Road, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n \u201cThe death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.
