Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane has stated Liam Lawson must deliver \u201cperfect\u201d race weekends and play a role in helping to provide the “perfect” car for the remainder of the season if he is to remain in F1 next season.<\/p>\n
Lawson’s F1 future is currently up in the air, with only Max Verstappen confirmed to be under contract next season within the Red Bull family.<\/p>\n
Lawson has enjoyed an uptick in form since returning to Racing Bulls earlier this year after enduring a nightmare opening two rounds alongside Verstappen at Red Bull.<\/p>\n
With Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad waiting in the wings for an F1 debut, it has sparked speculation that either Lawson or Yuki Tsunoda will make way in 2026.<\/p>\n
As he seeks to retain his seat for next year, Lawson has been told he must deliver the ideal race weekends.<\/p>\n
Asked what Lawson needs to do to retain his seat, speaking to the media, including RacingNews365, Permane said: \u201cThe same as Isack, the same as all the other 19 drivers are trying to do – execute perfect race weekends.”<\/p>\n
With seven rounds remaining in the season, teams are placing development focus on next year’s car, which is being designed under a fresh set of technical regulations.<\/p>\n
As a result, Permane is not expecting to see major changes to the pecking order, making results difficult to come by.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one\u2019s going to be bringing any more upgrades, or I doubt very much anyone’s bringing any more upgrades,\u201d Permane said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we\u2019ve got what we\u2019ve got at the track. We\u2019ve got the car that we\u2019ve got.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it\u2019s for him [Lawson] and his engineers, and the support we have back from the UK and Faenza in Italy, to deliver as close to a perfect car as we can for him.<\/p>\n
