Neighbours in Stockport are demanding changes on a road where speeding vehicles are causing danger.<\/p>\n
A total of 60 people have signed a petition calling for new anti-speeding measures on George Lane (A627) in Bredbury, a residential street in a neighbourhood based to the east of Stockport<\/a> town centre.<\/p>\n They are asking Stockport council<\/a> to install a new speed camera or \u2018take other appropriate measures\u2019 to sort out the issues with cars going over the 30mph speed limit on the road.<\/p>\n To see planning applications; traffic and road diversions and layout changes; and more, visit the Public Notices Portal HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The petition stated: \u2018Vehicles going significantly above the speed limit on George Lane are an ongoing issue that residents have been raising with the council for years.<\/p>\n \u2018Previous attempts to tackle this have failed, necessitating a concerted effort by neighbours to once again bring this to the council’s attention via this petition.<\/p>\n \u2018Over the last few years we have seen vehicles crashing into the church and pets getting hit, while the number of vehicles obviously speeding has increased.<\/p>\n \u2018We want to avoid further harm coming to our neighbours, pets, and properties by curbing vehicles speeding down our road.\u2019<\/p>\n Stockport council was approached for comment.<\/p>\n Join our Stockport WhatsApp group HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The petition launched at the start of September and runs for six weeks until October 19.<\/p>\n
