Formula 1 faces one of the biggest changes in its 75-year history going into next season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2026 regulation changes<\/a> are going to potentially change the entire pecking order of the Formula 1<\/a> grid.<\/p>\n

But, there are concerns about Red Bull\u2019s 2026 power unit<\/a> that could see them fall away next year, and leave them desperately trying to convince Verstappen to commit to their long-term project.<\/p>\n

There are factors beyond the new power units and movable aerodynamics that might also play a role in how each team performs.<\/p>\n

One factor that hasn\u2019t been spoken about enough is the introduction of new sustainable fuels next year.<\/p>\n

Although a potentially important factor both for F1\u2019s sustainability goals and the long-term future of road cars that use the technology developed by teams going forward, there are serious concerns about the cost going into next season.<\/p>\n

A report from Auto Motor und Sport<\/a> has shared more details about the concerns arising from F1\u2019s goal of introducing sustainable fuels to the sport.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed that these new fuels will cost around \u00a3186 per litre, although for some teams, such as Aston Martin, this figure will vary depending on sponsorship deals.<\/p>\n

Aston Martin\u2019s primary sponsor is Aramco, so it\u2019s likely that they\u2019ll be able to deal with this change better than smaller teams like Haas.<\/p>\n

The report from AMuS suggests that \u2018smaller teams\u2019 are struggling to adapt to these rising costs \u2018without suffering a sporting disadvantage\u2019.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed that \u2018in the paddock, discussions are underway\u2019 to try and work out how to make these new fuels cheaper.<\/p>\n

While the goal is to \u2018maintain the ecological focus\u2019 of the change without harming a team\u2019s \u2018financial competitiveness\u2019, time is running out to make this a reality.<\/p>\n
