ITV has promoted Darren Nartey to lead its content acquisitions team succeeding Sasha Breslau.<\/p>\n

Nartey, who is currently senior acquisitions manager for film and kids, will take over as head of acquisitions after Breslau was hired by Warner Bros Discovery<\/a> to lead programme buying for HBO Max as vice-president of content acquisitions for UK and Ireland, ahead of the streamer\u2019s launch in the territories next year.<\/p>\n

Nartey steps into his elevated role this week and will report into director of channels, ITVX and acquisitions Craig Morris.<\/p>\n

A seasoned member of ITV\u2019s content acquisitions team, Nartey will oversee the sourcing, negotiating and acquisition of films, series and children\u2019s content across both linear and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n

During his decade at the PSB, he has played an integral role in the launch of ITVX, curating a premium line-up of series, film and kids content, and was central in securing landmark acquisitions for ITV such as The Oscars, the James Bond library and Harry Potter film franchise.<\/p>\n

He joined ITV as an acquisitions executive in 2015. Prior to this, he held buying roles at Channel 5. Outside his core duties, Nartey also works in supporting new talent, mentoring people inside and outside of the broadcaster. He said he is \u201clooking forward to working with Craig and the team to bring ITV audiences a brilliant range of acquired content\u201d.<\/p>\n

Morris said: \u201cFor many years we have benefitted from Darren\u2019s brilliant people skills, editorial nous and innovative deal-making abilities. I\u2019m very excited to now be working more closely with him as he steps up to lead the team and help us evolve ITV\u2019s acquisitions strategy.<\/p>\n
