Former Coronation Stree<\/strong>t star Steven Arnold will feature in a fast-paced, \u2018Dickens-meets-disaster\u2019-style comedy show at Salford Arts Theatre in October.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Doing Dickens is a new comedy show from the award-winning Northern Comedy Theatre, set to tour independent UK theatre venues in October and November.<\/p>\n

\"StevenSteven Arnold will feature in the upcoming \u2018Doing Dickens\u2019 production. (Northern Comedy Theatre, 2025).<\/p>\n

Featuring Kathryn Chambers, Farron Ronan, Steven Arnold and Robert Stuart-Hudson, it is a chaotic performance of every Charles Dickens novel in one show.<\/p>\n

It has been described by Northern Comedy Theatre as \u2018wordplay, lots of fake beards, and more chaos than Victorian workhouses\u2019.<\/p>\n

Steven Arnold, who is known for his 1995-2010 role as Ashley Peacock in ITV soap opera Coronation Street, has starred in a handful of Northern Comedy Theatre productions.<\/p>\n

The comedy was written by playwright David Spicer, a scriptwriter and playwright best known for his comedy series\u2019 on BBC Radio 4. He has previously worked with celebrity stars such as David Tennant, Bill Bailey and Johnny Vaughn.<\/p>\n

Set for a tour debut at Salford Arts Theatre on Wednesday, October 22, the show hopes to become the next success in a line of successful Northern Comedy Theatre productions, following comedies such as \u2018Doing Shakespeare\u2019 and \u2018PERFECT\u2019.<\/p>\n

In 2020, the theatre company was awarded a special OneOff award from OffWestEnd. They also won the Scenesaver award for Best Ensemble in 2021.<\/p>\n
