{"id":463662,"date":"2025-09-30T17:51:48","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T17:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/463662\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T17:51:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T17:51:48","slug":"liverpool-face-unique-problem-after-handing-out-lifetime-bans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/463662\/","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool face unique \u2018problem\u2019 after handing out lifetime bans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/John-Henry-Arne-Slot-Liverpool-1-1140x641.jpg\" class=\"attachment-single-feature size-single-feature wp-post-image\" alt=\"John Henry looking concerned with Arne Slot included in a circular inset\" layout=\"fill\"  style=\"object-position: 50% 20%\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Credit: Getty Images\/Manh Tung &#8211; Breaking Media)<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/jamesmurray-150x150.jpg\" width=\"64\" height=\"64\" alt=\"James Murray\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>   <\/p>\n<p> Tue 30 September 2025 18:45, UK <\/p>\n<p><strong>Liverpool have been severely impacted by ticket touts following their success on the field over the past couple of years.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/exclusive-liverpool-land-260m-windfall-after-confirmed-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/arne-slot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arne Slot<\/a> last season. <\/p>\n<p>However, that has brought about increased demand for tickets and, ultimately,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/liverpool-to-take-aggressive-action-after-confirmed-news-stefan-borson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a surge in touting at Anfield<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/c39rp81knypo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BBC Sport<\/a>\u00a0reported on 25 September\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/liverpool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a>\u00a0have shut down 145,000 ticket accounts over the past two years as part of a crackdown against touting, while 1,114 lifetime bans were handed out last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Former\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/manchester-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Man City<\/a>\u00a0financial adviser\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/author\/stefanborson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stefan Borson<\/a>\u00a0exclusively told\u00a0<strong>Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0Liverpool and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/arsenal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a>\u00a0are perhaps the only two\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a>\u00a0clubs who currently have such a high level of demand for tickets. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"732\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1758820817_201_arne-slot-1024x732.jpg\" alt=\"Arne Slot applauds Liverpool fans after full-time\" class=\"wp-image-751750\" \/>Credit: ImagoLiverpool facing increased levels of ticket touting<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/stefan-borson-cant-believe-liverpool-latest-fans-will-be-outraged\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool have frozen their ticket prices for this season<\/a>\u00a0despite seeing several of their fellow top-flight clubs increasing their rates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Reds are now ramping up their efforts to get on top of the ticket touting issues at Anfield. <\/p>\n<p>MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n<p>Speaking exclusively to\u00a0<strong>Football Insider<\/strong>,\u00a0Borson\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cThe bigger the club, the bigger the issue is.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I think it does remind you that you need to be slightly sceptical about the number of accounts and members and all of this sort of stuff that the clubs report because many of them are dummy accounts to buy more tickets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/arne-slot-1-1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Arne Slot on the touchline.\" class=\"wp-image-748012\" \/>Credit: Imago<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, 145,000 is quite a lot and clearly it\u2019s organised. But it\u2019s a problem only for probably two or three clubs that have got that kind of demand, maybe only one in England right now, maybe Arsenal as well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody else has that level of demand for tickets right now.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Slot\u2019s side currently sit top of the Premier League table after picking up 15 points from their opening six games of the new season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool make move to block ticket touts<\/p>\n<p>There is high demand for tickets at Anfield, with the stadium holding 61,276 fans following Liverpool\u2019s redevelopments in recent years. <\/p>\n<p>Borson said:\u00a0\u201cI think it\u2019s interesting the problem that they have got.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a challenge for all clubs to keep the stadium interesting, noisy and good for TV with the right sort of fans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople that are there to watch the match rather than just video it on their phone for a one-off, creating the atmosphere, not even necessarily being a fan of the teams.
