Singer-songwriter Lola Young has cancelled all of her upcoming performances, including a scheduled show in Liverpool, after collapsing on stage during a recent concert in New York. The 24-year-old Messy singer was due to perform at The Dome at Grand Central Hall on October 10, but the event has now been officially cancelled.<\/a><\/p>\n

The incident occurred on Saturday, when Lola was performing at the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in New York. Viral footage from the event shows her visibly struggling before collapsing backwards mid-performance. She later pulled out of her scheduled appearance <\/a>at the Washington DC leg of the same festival on Sunday.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post<\/a> on Tuesday, she said: \u201cI\u2019m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for all the love and support. I\u2019m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously you will be entitled to a full refund.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really hope you\u2019ll give me a second chance once I\u2019ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all, Lola x.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lola, who recently released her third studio album I\u2019m Only F****** Myself, was due to play venues around the UK in October.<\/p>\n

No further details about her condition have been released, but fans have flooded social media with messages of support, wishing her a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n

The Indie singer was last in the city for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend<\/a> where she headlined the event. She said she was pleasantly surprised by how good the Liverpool crowd was.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio 1 DJs Ricky Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom<\/a> after her 3pm performance, Lola said: “I loved it. I was in my head because there was so many people and I was a bit nervous but it was a moment for me.”<\/p>\n

Melvin quizzed the singer on what she thought of the city’s energy. He asked: “How do the Liverpool crowds compare to any of your other shows?”<\/p>\n

Lola, who is from Croydon, replied: “They’re actually great. I was surprised because you wouldn’t think so – but I don’t know why you wouldn’t think so.<\/p>\n

“Actually, they are a rowdy, rowdy bunch anyway, but they were banging and I enjoyed it and I’m really happy to be here. Yeah, I don’t know what else to say, really.”<\/p>\n

The festival takes places each year in a different location across the UK, with a superstar line-up curated by the radio station.
