Ageu will sit out this weekend’s Edinburgh derby, Derek McInnes<\/a> has confirmed.<\/p>\n

The record Hearts<\/a> signing made his debut after a big money move from Portugal against Livingston last month, but a hamstring injury has kept him sidelined since.<\/p>\n

McInnes previously admitted the Brazilian midfielder was touch and go for the capital clash against city rivals Hibs<\/a>, which the hosts go into in fine form and sitting top of the Premiership table.<\/p>\n

But he’s now admitted defeat in the race to get him fit to face the Hibees, and instead will use the upcoming international break to get him raring to go.<\/p>\n

He also explained that Craig Gordon is fit enough to join up with the Scotland squad after the weekend’s game.<\/p>\n

The veteran keeper was a surprise inclusion in Steve Clarke’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Greece and Belarus<\/a> at Hampden.<\/p>\n

But Gordon completed a bounce match for his club today and will head off with McInnes’ blessing.<\/p>\n

\u201cCraig has managed to put four or five days of training together, he explained. “He’s playing 45 minutes in a bounce game today. I spoke with Steve [Clarke] yesterday, and we were happy that he was fully fit and back training, hence why he’s in the squad and Steve was keen to put him back in.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of other injuries, just as we are. Nothing from the weekend and I think we just have those one or two longer term ones out, as the game’s going to come too quick for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we come out of the break, he’ll [Ageu] get some work done in the international break and we’ll be able to get him fit for the next game after that.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve got a strong squad; we’ve got good options in certain areas. Some areas are stronger than others, like every squad, but I’ve been really happy with the squad I inherited and obviously we’ve added to that.<\/p>\n

\u201cA few boys have moved on to get some regular football as well. From day one, from testing back in June, the players have been first class when I work and that’s got to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n
