A major sale has gotten underway which allows passengers to secure train tickets<\/a> for just \u00a32 between popular northern cities including Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Blackpool and more.<\/p>\n

Train operator<\/a> Northern has release three million \u00a32 tickets which will remain on sale from 8am on Tuesday, September 30, until Thursday, October 2.<\/p>\n

These rare \u00a32 tickets are valid for travel between Monday, October 6, and Friday, October 24.<\/p>\n

According to Northern, the most popular destinations with the most tickets available in the \u00a32 sale are: Manchester, Leeds, Bolton<\/a>, Preston, Manchester Airport<\/a>, Blackpool North, Rochdale<\/a>, Stockport<\/a>, Sheffield, Wigan<\/a> Wallgate, Hebden Bridge, Blackburn, Meadowhall, Liverpool Lime Street, Wilmslow<\/a>, Ilkley, Hull and Wakefield Westgate – but this is not the exhaustive list.<\/p>\n

Alex Hornby, commercial and customer director at Northern, said: “With three million tickets up for grabs, there\u2019s something for everyone in Northern’s Flash Sale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“For our existing customers, it’s the perfect opportunity to visit somewhere new, and hopefully we can encourage those who don’t currently use the train to give it a try.<\/p>\n

“We believe the Flash Sale will inspire everyone to explore everything our fantastic region has to offer, from bustling cities to countryside and stunning coastlines.”<\/p>\n

And Mr Hornby warned that prospective passengers must act quickly if they want to secure these cheap train tickets.<\/p>\n

He said: “Customers will need to book early to avoid disappointment – once they’re gone, they’re gone!”<\/p>\n

Tickets will be available to buy on Northern’s app, online, and at ticket offices and on ticket machines at stations managed by Northern.<\/p>\n

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,650 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.<\/p>\n

Due to high demand for the \u00a32 tickets, Northern’s ‘cheap fare finder’ system stopped working.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, when the sale commenced, a message appeared on Northern’s dedicated sale website which read: “Oops – our cheap fare finder has crashed due to high demand for cheap tickets.
