Apples <\/strong>can now be found in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong>, with the red fruits spawning in certain points on the map and, trust me, you’ll want to be picking them up.<\/p>\n

The introduction of apples also marks the release of two additional items in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/a> – Sweet Apples<\/strong> and Tart Apples<\/strong>. Since you’ll be finding quite a few of these apples, it’s a good idea to know what Sweet and Tart Apples do<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So let’s take a look at apples in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong>, including how to get Sweet Apples and Tart Apples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Go Apples: How to get Sweet Apples and Tart Apples<\/p>\n

Apples can now appear on the Pok\u00e9mon Go map. They look just like you’d expect – little red fruits that you can interact by pressing. (If you played Pok\u00e9mon Go during its April Fool’s 2025 event, then you might find yourself experiencing some d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu.)<\/p>\n

Interacting with an apple will either give you an Applin<\/a> encounter, a Sweet Apple or a Tart Apple. You can learn more about what these two items are used for down below.<\/p>\n

Apples were introduced, alongside Applin’s debut, to Pok\u00e9mon Go in April 2025 during the Sweet Discoveries<\/a> event. This event also included a bonus where placing a Mossy Lure Module<\/a> at a Pok\u00e9Stop would increase the chance of apples spawning in this location. Hopefully we’ll see this bonus appearing during Pok\u00e9mon Go events and, if it does, we’ll make sure to mention it in that event’s dedicated guide.<\/p>\n

\nSweet Discoveries<\/a> is currently running in Pok\u00e9mon Go. It sees the debut of both Applin<\/a> and apples<\/a>!

\nYou can now catch Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> through Max Battles<\/a>. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles<\/a> and complete the To the Max! quest<\/a>.

\nDon’t forget to try out Routes<\/a>, Gift Exchange<\/a> and Party Play<\/a> while you’re hunting down rare Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>, fighting in the Go Battle League<\/a> or competing in Pok\u00e9Stop Showcases<\/a>.

What Sweet and Tart Apples do in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/p>\n

Sweet and Tart Apples are used for evolving Applin <\/strong>in Pok\u00e9mon Go – Sweet Apples make it evolve into Appletun<\/strong>, while Tart Apples evolve it into Flapple<\/strong>. The use of Sweet and Tart Apples for Applin’s evolutions is tied to how it evolved in the mainline games, Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield, where Applin first debuted in the Pok\u00e9mon universe. In those games, you had to give an Applin just one Sweet or Tart Apple to trigger its evolution.<\/p>\n

The catch? Tart Apples could only be found in Pok\u00e9mon Sword, while Shield only contained Sweet Apples. This means you must trade with a player playing the opposite version of you if you wish to have both Appletun and Flapple in your Pok\u00e9dex. Not to mention that, outside of a helpful NPC, it’s also quite tricky to find the apples so you have to be selective when deciding which Applin to evolve.<\/p>\n

The Teal Mask DLC for Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/a> saw the introduction of the Syrupy Apple. This item can evolve an Applin into a Dipplin<\/a>, which can then be evolved into a Hydrapple by teaching it Dragon Cheer before levelling it. At the time of writing, Dipplin and Hyrdrapple are not <\/strong>in Pok\u00e9mon Go.<\/p>\n
