{"id":464803,"date":"2025-10-01T04:08:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T04:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/464803\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T04:08:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T04:08:11","slug":"swollen-samsung-galaxy-ring-battery-reportedly-leads-to-hospital-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/464803\/","title":{"rendered":"Swollen Samsung Galaxy Ring battery reportedly leads to hospital visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/category\/samsung\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" rel=\"noopener\">Samsung&#8217;s<\/a> signature smart ring may have sent someone to the hospital, according to an experience shared by a popular tech YouTuber.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZONEofTECH\/status\/1972664720642478478\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">X user named Daniel<\/a>, who runs a YouTube channel called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/zoneoftech\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" rel=\"noopener\">ZONEofTECH<\/a>, posted photos on X on Monday that allegedly showed a Samsung Galaxy Ring having swollen to the point where he couldn&#8217;t remove it from his finger. Daniel said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZONEofTECH\/status\/1972700564602364364\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">follow-up post<\/a> that this happened while he was boarding a plane, at which point he was denied entry due to the presence of a swollen lithium-ion battery. He also said he went to the hospital and had the ring removed there.  It&#8217;s not clear where this happened or which hospital he went to for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>        SEE ALSO:<br \/>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/samsung-tri-fold-united-states-release-date\" class=\"flex items-center text-secondary-300\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            Samsung&#8217;s Tri-Fold phone could come to the U.S. this year<\/p>\n<p>        <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Daniel <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZONEofTECH\/status\/1972729989847031823\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">shared on X<\/a> that he obtained the ring in January, was unsure of the health of the battery but suspected it had an issue as the battery life &#8220;stopped lasting more than 1.5 days&#8221; rather than the advertised week. Daniel said the ring battery had no charge when it allegedly swelled.<\/p>\n<p>\n            Mashable Light Speed\n        <\/p>\n<p>Mashable has reached out to both Daniel and Samsung for comment. In the photos, it looks like the inner portion of the ring has expanded due to a swollen battery, and due to the way the ring is constructed, it swells inward rather than outward. That would certainly make it difficult to remove the ring from a finger. As <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/09\/29\/swollen-galaxy-ring-battery\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" rel=\"noopener\">9to5Google<\/a> pointed out, there have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GalaxyRing\/comments\/1kzi37b\/battery_swollen\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" rel=\"noopener\">previous reports<\/a> of this happening with the Galaxy Ring, though not necessarily ones that ended in hospital visits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SamsungUK\/status\/1972668504672247907\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">Samsung UK<\/a> reached out to Daniel directly on X, and also supplied the following statement to 9to5Google:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The safety of our customers is a top priority and we are in direct contact with this user to learn more about their concerns. While experiences like this are extremely rare, there are a few ways to attempt removing a stuck ring, including soap and water \u2013 or submerging your hand in cold water.
