Birmingham City’s injury issues are mounting after eight Championship games<\/p>\n

Ethan Laird has been ruled out for \u2018a few months\u2019 with a hamstring injury in a bitter blow to Birmingham City.<\/a><\/p>\n The right-back limped off during the 3-0 defeat to Coventry City on Saturday after overstretching whilst taking a shot at goal.<\/p>\n Scans have revealed that Laird<\/a> has suffered significant damage to his hamstring and will miss a chunk of Blues\u2019 season.<\/p>\n Manager Chris Davies<\/a> said: \u201cEthan is unfortunately an injury that will take him some time, a few months, which is a real blow. A real blow to him and us.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s had it assessed and looked at, and unfortunately it was as bad as we feared it would be. We won\u2019t see him for a few months.\u201d<\/p>\n The prognosis is better on German striker Marvin Ducksch who sustained a leg injury in the warm up at Coventry.<\/p>\n Davies added: \u201cMarvin is a few weeks, so there\u2019s nothing long-term with that, but unfortunately Ethan will be longer.\u201d<\/p>\n Blues\u2019 other right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel, was forced off in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night<\/a> due to a foot injury.<\/p>\n Star striker Jay Stansfield was also withdrawn with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n \u201cJay obviously felt his ankle and couldn\u2019t continue,\u201d Davies said. \u201cI don\u2019t know the extent of what he will be out for and it\u2019s similar with Bright, he had a knock and tried to run it off.
