The portrait, painted by Jamie Coreth, was <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/1629969\/kate-middleton-prince-william-first-official-joint-portrait-fitzwilliam-Museum-cambridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first official joint portrait of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,<\/a> now <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/1667224\/prince-william-title-change-king-charles-speech-prince-of-wales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Prince and Princess of Wales.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\">While the portrait, which was commissioned in 2021 by the Cambridgeshire Royal Portrait Fund, held by the Cambridge Community Foundation, was first displayed in the Fitzwilliam Museum and other community spaces, it will now be displayed in a cathedral. This has been confirmed by Julie Spence, Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire.<\/p>\n<p>She announced on X on Wednesday: \u201cOur fabulous portrait of The Prince and Princess of Wales as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge \u2069 will now be on display \u2066@pborocathedral so it is easily accessible for our residents and visitors in the north of the county and they can enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The portrait will now be based in Peterborough Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in 2022 when William and Kate viewed the portrait, artist Jamie Coreth said: \u201cIt has been the most extraordinary privilege of my life to be chosen to paint this picture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to show Their Royal Highnesses in a manner where they appeared both relaxed and approachable, as well as elegant and dignified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs it is the first portrait to depict them together, and specifically during their time as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I wanted the image to evoke a feeling of balance between their public and private lives.
