A machete thug brutally hacked a man<\/a> in a Glasgow pub in front of shocked punters.<\/p>\n

The sickening attack unfolded at Bells Bar in Springburn on Friday last week.<\/p>\n

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being set upon.<\/p>\n

A police source<\/a> confirmed to the Record the attack was targeted.<\/p>\n

The attacker, who was wearing a hat and a grey hoodie, was captured on CCTV entering the boozer and pushing through pub goers singing karaoke.<\/p>\n

In the footage he is seen making his way over to a table before pulling a footlong blade from behind his back.<\/p>\n

He lands a violent strike on a man seated at a table. The attacker then rains fourth further blows down on his victim in a frenzied attack.<\/p>\n

Blood appears to splatter across the walls above the table as the victim attempts to shield his face from the machete. The victim then jumps up onto a seating area in a bid to escape further blows,<\/p>\n

The brutal assault went unnoticed by merry pub goers who continued to hug and sing John Denver’s 1971 hit Take Me Home, Country Roads on a karaoke microphone.<\/p>\n

One punter who was filming the sing-a-long captured the moment people noticed the bleeding victim slumped at the table.<\/p>\n

Police were called down to the boozer and a 39-year-old man was rushed to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary.<\/p>\n

He remains in hospital after suffering serious injuries.<\/p>\n

A witness told the Record: \u201cIt’s absolutely horrific and shocking. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a nice wee night out with some karaoke in a quiet local pub and the next thing a machete maniac is storming in and hacking at a guy having a pint.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sound the machete making contact is horrific. I couldn\u2019t believe my ears.<\/p>\n

“It just shows the force of the blows he was raining down.<\/p>\n

“It’s worrying that he’s not been caught yet and hopefully the police get him soon.”<\/p>\n

Police have launched a probe to track down the knifeman.<\/p>\n

The Celtic-memorabilia decorated pub is a popular watering hole for Hoops supporters on match days.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11pm on Friday, 26 September, 2025, we were called to a report of a man being seriously assaulted within licensed premises on Springburn Way, Glasgow.<\/p>\n

“Emergency services attended and a 39-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. Extensive enquiries are ongoing and officers remain in the area.”<\/p>\n

The statement added: “Anyone with any concerns or information can speak to them, or call 101 quoting incident 4197 of Friday, 26 September.”<\/p>\n
