No trains will be travelling to or from a major Greater Manchester railway station this weekend as work on a major \u00a320m project continues.<\/p>\n
No services will be calling at Stockport<\/a> station on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5 as part of further work on Greek Street Bridge.<\/p>\n Tickets will be accepted on Metrolink<\/a> services between Altrincham<\/a>\/Navigation Road and Manchester city centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n Replacement bus services will be running with train tickets and passes accepted on the buses, 11, 42C, 192, 368, 370 and 378, with passengers being advised to plan their journeys in advance.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A new railway bridge was installed in August, with the line closed for three weeks while work took place.<\/a><\/p>\n The work this weekend will allow the project team to continue work underneath the new bridge.<\/p>\n The Network Rail project began in March this year and it is expected to finish in Spring 2026.<\/p>\n It is a key interchange between Stockport town centre<\/a>, Shaw Heath and Edgeley.<\/a><\/p>\n
