King Charles <\/a>and Lady Diana Spencer tied the knot in July 1981, at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Though their marriage was celebrated all over the world, the couple’s relationship unravelled in turmoil<\/a>, leading to bitterness on both sides.<\/p>\n An upcoming biography titled \u201cThe King: The Life of Charles III,\u201d out on Nov. 8, writes Charles and Diana had a “highly combustible” marriage.<\/p>\n The book’s author, Christopher Andersen, claims that one of Charles\u2019 valets recalls seeing Diana \u201churling epithets and mocking her husband\u2019s obsession with the dreary-looking Camilla.” Andersen states that the valet watched as Diana \u201cliterally pursued\u201d her husband \u201cdown hallways, up staircases and from room to room\u201d at their Highgrove House country retreat.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Prince Harry blasts ‘false’ King Charles reports amid ‘tone’ allegations<\/a>READ MORE: Prince Harry appears to be sad when talking about Prince William, says body language expert<\/a><\/p>\n The biography alleges that Diana questioned her husband, \u201cWhy won\u2019t you sleep with me?\u201d after he \u201chad for all intents and purposes unilaterally called a halt to their sexual relationship\u201d after Prince Harry\u2019s birth in 1984.<\/p>\n The author writes that Charles responded with: \u201cI don\u2019t know, dear. I think I might be gay.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the biography, a heated fight made Charles lash out at his wife, stating, “Do you know who I am?”<\/p>\n \u201cDiana answered that he was a \u2018f—king animal,’\u201d Andersen writes in the book. \u201cYou will never be King!\u201d she shouted. \u201cWilliam will succeed your mother. I will see to that.\u201d<\/p>\n A bodyguard also said in the book that the “clashes between Diana and Charles were now so raw that ‘violence seemed inevitable.'”<\/p>\n As time passed, unhappiness compounded in the royal household, according to the book.<\/p>\n \u201cThe detectives in charge of protecting members of the royal family were deeply concerned that \u2018in the heat of anger,\u2019 any one of these could be used to commit suicide, homicide or both,\u201d states Andersen in the biography.<\/p>\n Misery began even before the wedding, the book claims<\/p>\n The two were allegedly unhappy even before their nuptials.
