Ryan Reynolds has revealed details about Channing Tatum’s wild evening with the Wrexham<\/a> squad which subsequently led to an apology from the Magic Mike actor.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood heavyweight visited North Wales last December to shoot a Super Bowl advert <\/a>for one of the sponsors of the football club, co-owned by Reynolds<\/a> and Rob Mac<\/a>. The American clearly relished his Welsh adventure after calling into the Fat Boar pub in Wrexham<\/a> alongside Deadpool star Reynolds for some drinks.<\/p>\n

Tatum also witnessed Phil Parkinson’s team’s League One encounter against Cambridge United at the Racecourse Ground, which concluded in a 2-2 stalemate, before joining the players for midfielder Elliot Lee’s birthday celebrations. Limited information was previously available about the boisterous evening, but Reynolds has now disclosed what transpired after jokingly suggesting it might have put the squad in mortal peril.<\/p>\n

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>, the Canadian displayed a photograph featuring Tatum posing shirtless with Lee, alongside then-Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer and Steven Fletcher, at a local nightspot.<\/p>\n

Discussing some of the celebrity visitors who have supported the Red Dragons, Reynolds said: “Channing Tatum came out and nearly killed the whole team. He came out to shoot a Super Bowl ad for SToK Cold Brew Coffee, which is a sponsor of the club.<\/p>\n

“He was going to do the Super Bowl ad where he does this insane dance thing. But after the rehearsal, he was like, ‘I’m going to take some of the boys out.’ And then they go out, and then it’s just like radio silence.”<\/p>\n

Reynolds then shared a text he received from Tatum at around 4.30am, causing the audience to erupt in laughter. A comical photo from their night out was subsequently displayed on screen.<\/p>\n

He said: “This is a real text I got from him at 4:30 in the morning or so. ‘Oops. I might have had too much fun with the boys.’ And then a long pause. ‘I’m sorry.’ I said, ‘Please don’t break any of them.’ And he said, ‘Definitely didn’t break any of them. We were very vigilant about injuries.’<\/p>\n

“Then he just wrote, ‘But we definitely got way more loose than I was ever planning to. It happened, and I’m sorry. It’s definitely going to be on the internet.'”<\/p>\n

Reynolds added: “He turned the whole team into Magic Mike. Those boys were in their hotel rooms, tucked away and lost in prayer. Then he came in individually, room by room and snatched them into the Welsh nightlife.”<\/p>\n

Tatum previously confessed to feeling anxious about meeting the players prior to his visit. “I was able to go and hang out with the guys the night before filming,” he told The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I went to the game and then it was Elliot Lee’s birthday the night after. We all just hung out. Such a good time. I was still nervous. I knew I was going to have to make a fool out of myself the next day in front of them. It could have gone one of two ways.<\/p>\n

“I spent a few days (and nights) there. The team and town have a sense of optimism and a ride or die loyalty that made me want to stay forever. Incredible work, Ryan and Rob.
