First opened in 2019, the venue was helmed by Eunji Noh for five years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But Eunji, whose restaurant was <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/huge-queues-outside-south-manchester-27559315\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">at the centre of a campaign from Sacha Lord<\/a> giving out free meals to locals, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/owner-iconic-korean-restaurant-announces-28435524\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">decided to close the popular restaurant<\/a> last year due to the end of the venue\u2019s lease.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Upon closing the doors last March, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/unforgettable-restaurant-you-only-few-28735512\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Eunji promised customers<\/a> she would be back with a new premises after going on a break and spending time with her family. She has now announced that The Thirsty Korean is back in business, with a new location now on Wilbraham Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Taking over the former Vietnamese Potbellied spot, which itself closed in September last year, the restaurant carries on Eunji\u2019s tradition of Korean-inspired dishes with an expansion of what people have come to expect. It is situated opposite the The Lloyds pub.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_AMR_MEN_240425_TTK_04.jpg\" alt=\"The restaurant, now on Wilbraham Road, is currently open for walk-in's only as part of a soft launch phase\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The restaurant, now on Wilbraham Road, is currently open for walk-in&#8217;s only as part of a soft launch phase(Image: The Thirsty Korean)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWe have been looking for a new venue with a bigger kitchen for some time,\u201d Eunji said. \u201cI have plenty of ideas for Korean food to offer, but the kitchen always needed to be able to support this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cAs Korea is a peninsula, we usually eat lots of seafood but here, when it comes to Korean food, most people tend to know more about beef, pork and chicken, like Korean BBQ. But we will have things like fresh mackerel with a spicy sauce on top called Gogalb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI wanted to show some real and authentic Korean food to customers alongside quality drinks and service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_AMR_MEN_240425_TTK.jpg\" alt=\"The restaurant will serve classic Korean dishes with many that will be new to British diners\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The restaurant will serve classic Korean dishes with many that will be new to British diners(Image: The Thirsty Korean)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The venue\u2019s drinks menu will include a range of draught beer and the likes of Soju, whilst the food menu will branch across the likes of soups, curries, noodles and rice dishes. The venue is currently open as part of a soft opening phase, with walk-in\u2019s only, as staff get to grips with the new unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWe are starting our business by soft opening as we are all new to work in this kitchen, therefore we can not guarantee the fast speed of food service,\u201d Eunji said. \u201cWhat we can guarantee here is that there will be great quality with our dishes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI have been waiting for this time to come for so long.
