A brand new book is being launched at an event at the Liverpool Empire this November celebrating the life of one of the country\u2019s best-loved entertainers Paul O\u2019Grady.<\/p>\n
James Seabright, by arrangement with Harper Collins, is delighted to present an exclusive book launch event hosted by Jodie Prenger, to celebrate the release of the brand-new biography of one of the country\u2019s best-loved entertainers \u2013 the much-missed Paul O\u2019Grady in his beloved home city.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s more than two years since the much-loved entertainer, broadcaster and national treasure Paul O\u2019Grady died, and yet his voice still echoes \u2015 in laughter, in memory, in the unshakeable affection of millions. In the deeply personal and revealing biography, Paul\u2019s longtime collaborator Malcolm Prince draws on two decades of friendship to tell the story of the man behind the icon: the sharp-witted, fiercely loyal, irrepressibly funny, and deeply private individual, known to his close friends as \u2018Savage\u2019 \u2015 and to the public, in various guises: as prime time TV star, the nation\u2019s dog-loving agony uncle, and a Sunday afternoon radio companion.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Host Jodie Prenger will interview the author, and audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions about the book and Paul O\u2019Grady\u2019s incredible life and career. Author Malcolm Prince will be available after the show for a book signing.<\/p>\n
Malcolm was Paul\u2019s radio producer at the BBC for 20 years, where they worked together on feature documentaries, seasonal specials, and Paul\u2019s popular Sunday afternoon Radio 2 show, which ran for 14 years. At Radio 2 he was the launch producer of Elaine Paige on Sunday, Alan Carr & Melanie Sykes\u2019 Saturday Escape, and he produced Graham Norton\u2019s Saturday morning programme for a decade. His landmark series include a history of British television with Michael Grade, David Puttnam\u2019s Century of Cinema, a celebration of musical theatre hosted by Julia McKenzie & Si\u00e2n Phillips. He left the BBC in 2022. He contributed to ITV\u2019s For The Love of Paul O\u2019Grady in 2023 and Channel 4\u2019s ABBA: 50 Years of Pop in 2024.<\/p>\n
