The chief executive of renowned Northern Ireland veterinary pharmaceutical firm Norbrook has stepped down, the company confirmed today.<\/p>\n
Andrea Iucci became chief executive of the Newry business, founded by Lord Ballyedmond, in October 2023.<\/p>\n
Norbook today confirmed the departure of Mr Iucci from the role, with former CEO Liam Nagle to fill in until a successor is appointed.<\/p>\n
A Companies House filing stated that Mr Iucci\u2019s appointment as a director had been terminated on October 1.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Norbrook said: \u201cRegrettably, Andrea Iucci, CEO of Norbrook Laboratories, tendered his resignation in July 2025.<\/p>\n
“The board has already commenced the search for his successor and, in the meantime, Liam Nagle (non-executive chairman, and formerly CEO and chairman, Norbrook Laboratories) has taken on the role of executive chair to ensure continuity and a smooth transition to a new CEO.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank Andrea for his contribution and wish him well for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Iucci was interviewed in January by Ulster Business and commented on the company\u2019s improved performance in 2024.<\/p>\n
It had announced 180 redundancies in 2023 in response to a downturn in demand, while pre-tax profits had dropped from \u00a321.3m to \u00a33.9m in the year to July 2023.<\/p>\n
However, global sales of customer orders for the second half of 2024 were up 16% on 2023, with profits for the year to July 2024 reaching \u00a35.3m.<\/p>\n
Mr Iucci told Ulster Business: \u201cThere was a massive amount of work from everybody in the company, to be honest. <\/p>\n
“I\u2019m impressed about the commitment, the resilience and the passion here. I thought as an Italian I was passionate until I met the people in Norbrook, Newry.<\/p>\n
“They are very passionate about what they do.
