Family drama always ends up having far-reaching consequences. That\u2019s the thing with family drama. Everyone\u2019s connected. So, when father and son fight, that affects siblings. And then siblings fight, which affects nephews and nieces. And that doesn\u2019t change when the relationships in the middle of a dispute are the ones between Prince William and Prince Harry<\/a>, and the one feeling devastated by the feud is Prince George<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RadarOnline.com<\/a> is reporting that Prince George<\/a> was \u201cdevastated\u201d after Prince Harry<\/a> moved to the United States, and has found a new \u201cfun uncle\u201d in Mike Tindall. The 12-year-old was reportedly especially close to his uncle Harry before the Duke of Sussex moved with his wife, Meghan Markle<\/a>, to California.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeorge was very fond of Harry and really felt it when he went. Harry was the uncle who got down on the carpet, played around, and always made him laugh,\u201d one family source told the outlet. \u201cHis departure left a noticeable hole in George\u2019s life, and it was clear the family needed someone else to take on that role,\u201d the aide continued.<\/p>\n

Another courtier added, \u201cMike has taken on the role in a way few anticipated. He\u2019s obviously devoted to his own children, but he\u2019s also carved out time for William and Kate\u2019s kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeorge clearly admires him, and the happiness is obvious when they\u2019re together. He\u2019s effectively become the new fun uncle in George\u2019s life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Phillips, the oldest daughter of Princess Anne, has stepped into that role for Prince George. \u201cMike has naturally stepped into that space,\u201d another insider said. \u201cHe\u2019s easygoing, fun, and never too formal \u2013 which is just what George needs. Being the eldest, George already carries a sense of responsibility, so Mike brings some relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can joke, play, and show affection, giving George the kind of carefree connection every child needs. It\u2019s been hugely important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evidence of the close bond between the two, according to body language expert Judi James, is last year\u2019s Christmas gathering at Sandringham. James pointed out that Tindall pulled George into a hug and kissed him on the head while the prince and his siblings were greeting well-wishers. \u201cMike just took over the action,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In his memoir, Spare, Harry spoke warmly of being an uncle and the excitement surrounding George\u2019s birth. \u201cI looked forward to popping in all the time. Look! It\u2019s Uncle Harry! \u2018Ello, Just thought I\u2019d stop by. Holding a bottle of wine and an armful of kiddie presents. Dropping to the floor and wrestling with little George.\u201d He also admitted feeling a sense of responsibility for William\u2019s children<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A royal aide said: \u201cHarry was always eager to play a part in George\u2019s life and had a strong protective streak. But being so far away now means that space has naturally been taken by someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not that George doesn\u2019t remember Harry \u2013 he absolutely does \u2013 but children need someone who\u2019s there day-to-day, not just in stories or recollections,\u201d the aide also said.<\/p>\n

The role Tindall plays these days seems to be important. \u201cMike has taken on the role in a way few anticipated. He\u2019s obviously devoted to his own children, but he\u2019s also carved out time for William and Kate\u2019s kids,\u201d another source added. \u201d<\/p>\n

For kids, the more good role models, the better.
