Mariah Carey has reignited her long-running feud with Jennifer Lopez<\/p>\n
The singer, 56, insisted during a live interview that she still does not know the fellow singer more than 20 years after her original remark went viral.<\/p>\n
She made the remarks while appearing on Bravo\u2019s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she was asked to revisit her now-legendary comment about Jennifer, 56, from 2003. <\/p>\n
During a German TV interview at the time, when questioned about the performer, Mariah responded simply: \u201cI don\u2019t know her.\u201d <\/p>\n
The line went on to become a pop culture meme and has followed both stars ever since.<\/p>\n
\nMariah has now said: \u201cThe thing is, I was being honest when I said it. So I don\u2019t know how it became so big. Honesty isn\u2019t really something that becomes big most of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAndy pressed further, noting how the phrase had become a staple of fan conversations and asking whether anything had changed between the two women. <\/p>\n
\nMariah sighed and replied: \u201cHow could I suddenly know her, you know?\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe studio audience erupted in laughter, while clips of the exchange quickly spread across Instagram. Fans praised the singer as \u201cforever iconic,\u201d with one user calling her the \u201cqueen of shade\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nJennifer has previously rejected Mariah\u2019s claim. <\/p>\n
\nAppearing on The Wendy Williams Show in 2016, she described her rival as \u201cforgetful\u201d and insisted the pair had met \u201cmany times\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nBut Mariah doubled down in a separate appearance on Watch What Happens Live the same year, telling Andy: \u201cApparently, I\u2019m forgetful. Because I don\u2019t remember the fact that it was like, \u2018Hi, I\u2019m so and so,\u2019 and then we moved on. I don\u2019t know her. Like what am I supposed to say?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMariah also took the opportunity to discuss another famous feud \u2013\u00a0her clashes with Eminem. <\/p>\n
\nAsked whether the conflict began when the rapper wanted her to play his mother in the 2002 film 8 Mile, she replied: \u201cThere is truth to that. I really don\u2019t care. Whatever he said, then I\u2019m that. Fine. Not really, but that\u2019s a rap lyric.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEminem has traded lyrical jabs with Mariah for years, while she responded in 2009 with her hit single Obsessed, widely interpreted as a parody of him. <\/p>\n
\nMariah, who was married to Nick Cannon from 2008 to 2016, also addressed a lighter topic when asked about her ex-husband\u2019s decision to insure his testicles for $10 million. <\/p>\n
\nRolling her eyes, she said: \u201cLord, help me.\u201d <\/p>\n
