If Manchester United are eyeing Barcelona legend Xavi as their next head coach, they might find the process of bringing him on board easier than anticipated. The 45-year-old left Barcelona<\/a> after the 2023\/24 season and has been jobless since.<\/p>\n

Back at his childhood club, Xavi<\/a> dazzled as he steered the Catalan giants<\/a> to a La Liga<\/a> triumph and the Spanish Super Cup. However, his next managerial move remains a mystery.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the heat is ramping up on Ruben Amorim<\/a>, especially following the loss to Brentford last weekend. Our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News<\/a> understand that United are standing by Amorim and that no successors have been earmarked for the Portuguese at this point.<\/p>\n

That being said, things can shift rapidly in football and a defeat to newly-promoted Sunderland<\/a> could entirely alter the situation. If United were to conclude that Xavi was the right person to lead the club forward, they could be in luck.<\/p>\n

Marca<\/a> reported in July that a series of clubs – including those in England and Germany – had approached the Barca legend about a return to management but they had been flatly turned down. The same response had been given with regards to managing in Spain too.<\/p>\n

It is believed that joining a club that isn’t Barcelona in Spain is seen as a ‘red line’ for the former midfielder that will not be crossed. Despite his insistence to stay out of management for now, Marca explained that it seemed to be only a matter of time before Xavi returned to the dugout.<\/p>\n

The Spanish press suggests that the manager is only likely to return to the dugout for a top-tier club. However, there’s a worry for United as Xavi’s coaching experience seems to be solely based in Spain and the Middle East, thus, bringing on board the World Cup winner could be seen as a gamble.<\/p>\n

Xavi himself is believed to also be careful about his next career move. He reportedly wants to thoroughly consider the advantages and disadvantages of any new project before making a commitment.<\/p>\n
