Only Fools and Horses legend Patrick Murray died peacefully in his sleep, a statement has confirmed. Tributes have flooded in after the comedy star, renowned for his role as Mickey Pearce in the BBC<\/a> classic, died aged 68.<\/p>\n

His death was confirmed in a post on the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society Facebook<\/a> page. The post from the group, which organises fan conventions and said it had spoken to the actor’s family to confirm the tragic news, shared snaps from Patrick as Mickey in the show, alongside Rodney Trotter, played by Nicholas Lyndhurst.<\/a><\/p>\n

The post said: “Patrick Murray. It is with heartfelt sadness that we report the death of our friend Patrick Murray – Mickey Pearce to so many.<\/a><\/p>\n

“He was a regular attendee of our conventions and we will miss his humour and the joy he bought to many. Sleep Well Pat!” The president of the group Perry Aghajanoff shared a statement with the ECHO<\/a> as he said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of actor Patrick Murray, best known to millions for his portrayal of Mickey Pearce in Only Fools and Horses.<\/p>\n

“Patrick passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1.28am on Monday, 29 September 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Patrick\u2019s sharp comedic timing and unforgettable turn as Del Boy\u2019s rakish mate made Mickey Pearce a fan favourite across generations.<\/p>\n

“Beyond the screen, Patrick was a warm, generous presence who cherished meeting fans and remained immensely proud of his connection to the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick was part of the fabric of Only Fools and Horses and of our community. He brought laughter, mischief, and heart to every scene. On behalf of the cast, crew, and fans, we send all our love to his family. He\u2019ll be deeply missed.<\/p>\n

“Details regarding funeral arrangements and opportunities for fans to pay their respects will be shared in due course. The family kindly requests privacy at this difficult time.”<\/p>\n

Carol Challis, who was married to late Only Fools and Horses star, John Challis, has been one of many to take to social media to pay tribute to Patrick.<\/p>\n

On X, she said: “My condolences to Pat\u2019s beloved wife Anong and their daughter Josie.” She added: “Sullivan loved Pat\u2019s Mickey Pearce.”<\/p>\n

Many fans took to the comments to pay tribute after the sad news.<\/p>\n

Benedict said: “Such sad news. A lovely gentleman. Thank you for the laughs where he’ll live on forever. Rest in Peace.”<\/p>\n

James added: “RIP Patrick aka Micky Pearce was 1 of the best characters in OFAH always laughed at his parts he played it brilliantly, so very sad, he has joined Grandad, Uncle Albert, Mike, Trigger, Boycie & Sid, all OFAH legends”<\/p>\n

Chris commented: “Rest peacefully Patrick. Mickey Pearce was a legendary character in fools.<\/p>\n

“Thank you for the laughs, you\u2019re going to be missed”<\/p>\n

Vic posted: “My deepest condolences to Patrick\u2019s family he was a great character in only fools and horses my all time favourite comedy series R.I.P”.<\/p>\n
