Prince William<\/a> makes a rare mention of Prince Harry<\/a> amid their ongoing rift.\n<\/p>\n In the new episode of\u00a0Eugene Levy<\/a>‘s Apple TV+ series,\u00a0The Reluctant Traveler<\/a>, the Prince of Wales speaks candidly about his childhood, his family life with\u00a0Kate Middleton<\/a>\u00a0and his royal destiny.\n<\/p>\n One personal question asked by Levy is how William, 43, feels about his eldest son, Prince George<\/a>,\u00a012, one day becoming king.\n<\/p>\n “It\u2019s an interesting question, and it\u2019s a big question, that one,” William replies. “Because there\u2019s lots of things to think about with that.”\n<\/p>\n He continues, “Obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people\u2019s lives for the better. That is caveated with, I hope we don\u2019t go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up with \u2014 and I\u2019ll do everything I can to make sure we don\u2019t regress in that situation.”\n<\/p>\n Prince William and Prince Harry attend the funeral of Princess Diana on Sept. 6, 1997.<\/p>\n Anwar Hussein<\/p>\n “I think it\u2019s safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good,” William continues. “And I embrace that and I enjoy that change – I don\u2019t fear it. That\u2019s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen.”\n<\/p>\n Prince William and Prince Harry have been estranged for years. Their feud exploded into public view in 2020, when Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a> stepped back from their royal duties. The divide deepened after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Netflix docuseries and Harry\u2019s bestselling book \u2014 each delivering criticism of the royal family.\n<\/p>\n Robert Lacey, author of\u00a0Battle of Brothers, recently told PEOPLE: “The rift is very profound<\/a>\u00a0and very long-lasting. It will not be changed, in my opinion, until Harry makes a move and apologizes.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Added historian Amanda Foreman: “Everyone wants it to happen on their terms, but that’s what makes it impossible.”\n<\/p>\n Harry recently had a groundbreaking meeting<\/a> with their father, King Charles<\/a>, meeting in person for the first time in 19 months. A former royal aide told PEOPLE the reunion was \u201ca massive step in the right direction<\/a>.”<\/p>\n Prince Harry and Prince William in July 2021.<\/p>\n DOMINIC LIPINSKI\/POOL\/AFP via Getty\u00a0<\/p>\n In The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William also recalls a childhood memory while showing Levy around Windsor Castle, calling St. George’s Hall “one of my favorite parts.”\n<\/p>\n “My cousins and I, and the family, would chase each other up and down here and do silly games,” he says. “I remember these carpets weren\u2019t here, and there were a couple of spots where you used to have to watch out because you\u2019d get massive splinters… It was a really dark, wooden, oak floor. Speaking to the Prince of Wales’ desire for his own children \u2014 Prince George, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 10,\u00a0and\u00a0Prince Louis<\/a>, 7 \u2014 to have a “relatively normal homelife,” Levy asks if that started with Diana.\n<\/p>\n William replies, “Yes, definitely, I think it\u2019s really important that that atmosphere is created at home.
