Clarke, who took charge of Walsall from 2019 to 2021 before leaving for rivals Port Vale, had centre-back Sadler as part of his squad when he first joined.<\/p>\n
In 2020 Sadler moved to become a player-coach and worked alongside Clarke before the Saddlers boss moved into coaching full time.<\/p>\n
Clarke is now back at his beloved Bristol Rovers, who he achieved promotion from League Two with in 2015\/16, and although Sadler is fond of his former boss, he is keen to keep the focus on the pitch and not the dugout.<\/p>\n
“I’m not for one second going to say me and Darrell are similar types of people, because we’re not, but I do always admire the infectious attitude and positivity that Darrell brings across to his group,” Sadler said.<\/p>\n
“Anyone who spends any time in Darrell’s company enjoys it. That’s the stuff where you can see why he’s had such a good career.<\/p>\n
