Wrexham<\/a> and Birmingham’s managers have stressed that they won’t be swayed by the buzz surrounding their Championship<\/a> face-off on Friday night.<\/p>\n The Red Dragons are poised to welcome the Blues in a match set to be broadcast live to supporters across the globe. The encounter has been christened the “Hollywood derby” by some, given Wrexham’s co-ownership by actors Ryan Reynolds<\/a> and Rob Mac<\/a>, whilst Birmingham are part-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady.<\/p>\n Both clubs clinched automatic promotion from League One<\/a> last term and also feature in their own TV documentaries. The inaugural meeting between these two sides in the third tier last season unfolded at St. Andrews, culminating in a 3-1 victory for Birmingham.<\/p>\n Brady and Mac were both present for that match alongside David Beckham<\/a>, with the return fixture concluding in a 1-1 stalemate. However, Birmingham manager Chris Davies is adamant that he and his team will not be sidetracked by whoever is in attendance the Racecourse Ground this time round.<\/p>\n Speaking to Sky Sports<\/a> prior to the showdown, he said: “I detach myself from the hype around games. I have no interest in who is in the stadium. That has no bearing on our job. I only see the opposition we are trying to beat.<\/p>\n “Last season we finished first, they finished second. They were a very good League One team and we had tough games against them. Phil Parkinson has done exceptional work to get them three promotions in a row.<\/p>\n “We know it will be a challenge, especially away, but if we play our game well we believe we can get the result we want.”<\/p>\n He added: “I encourage the players to put blinkers on and focus on what is important, which is the football. Everything else is noise and distraction. Players will see social media and outside talk, but I remind them to focus on the pitch.”<\/p>\n Birmingham enter the fixture sitting 11th in the standings, whilst Wrexham occupy 15th position.
