Set up in 2022, the European Political Community serves as a platform for debate between European Union member states, as well as non-members <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/09\/monaco-strongly-condemns-the-war-of-aggression-against-ukraine-prince-albert-ii-restates-support-for-volodymyr-zelenskyy-at-un\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">such as Ukraine<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/prince-albert-ii-copenhague-8-820x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-317444\"  \/>\u00a9\u00a0 Michael Alesi \/ Prince\u2019s Palace<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/prince-albert-ii-copenhague-5-819x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-317449\"  \/>\u00a9\u00a0 Michael Alesi \/ Prince\u2019s Palace<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/prince-sommet-copenhague-11-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-317552\"  \/>\u00a9\u00a0 Michael Alesi \/ Prince\u2019s Palace<\/p>\n<p>During the discussions on \u201cEconomic security and reducing European dependency,\u201d Prince Albert II stressed the importance of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/09\/prince-albert-ii-calls-for-stronger-multilateralism-at-un\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multilateralism<\/a>\u00a0and the need to reduce foreign dependency in certain strategic sectors, such as energy, technology and defence. He also emphasised the role of innovation and public support, citing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/04\/visionary-entrepreneurs-monaco-is-calling-you-monacotech-welcomes-in-the-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monaco Tech<\/a>, the Monegasque start-up incubator dedicated to clean energy, as a concrete example of economic and ecological resilience.<\/p>\n<p>Wide-ranging discussions on strengthening European cooperation<\/p>\n<p>The Sovereign took part in the discussions on a European coalition against drugs, initiated last May at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/05\/prince-albert-ii-strengthens-european-ties-at-tirana-energy-and-security-summit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tirana summit<\/a> in Albania by France and Italy. The aim is to strengthen cooperation against drug trafficking and illicit money streams and to develop prevention measures.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"mPIl2ST1UC\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/09\/prince-albert-ii-calls-for-global-alliance-to-combat-climate-change-nature-is-our-most-powerful-ally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Albert II calls for global alliance to combat climate change: \u201cNature is our most powerful ally\u201d<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Prince also met the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, who will hold the Presidency of the EU Council from 1 January 2026, and Andorra\u2019s Head of Government, Xavier Espot Zamora. The discussions were an opportunity to express the importance of European unity and the central role played by sport in the Principality\u2019s international commitments.
